Carly

Carly earned her A.S. in Veterinary Technology at UMA Bangor and she plans on taking the national veterinary technician licensing exam in the near future to become a licensed veterinary technician.
Carly recently moved back to Maine from Charleston, South Carolina where she lived for two years and worked as a Vet Tech. Carly started working at FVH January of 2023. She has previous experience working in emergency medicine, shelter medicine as well as general practice. Carly has always had a passion for taking care of animals since she was a young girl. She loves assisting in surgery, triaging emergency cases and providing care for patients in critical conditions.
When Carly is not working, she loves to be outdoors, at the beach, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Carly has plans on getting a puppy once she has settled down in her own place.
Karyn
Veterinary Assistant
Karyn grew up in Ohio and earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Wittenberg University in 2010. Following college, she pursued professional opportunities in wildlife rehabilitation, becoming a Certified Wildlife Rehabilitator and caring for injured and orphaned wildlife for over a decade at various wildlife rehabilitation facilities across the country. In addition to her wildlife background, Karyn has worked with domestic and exotic animals in the veterinary department at a humane society in Dover, NH. Karyn joined the FVH team in 2022 as a Veterinary Assistant. When not at work, she enjoys reading, practicing the violin, kayaking, and hiking with her partner and two rescue dogs, Libby and Theo.
Rachel
Veterinary Assistant
Rachel graduated from Franklin Pierce University with a major in Psychology and minor in business. She joined our FVH team in June of 2019 as a Veterinary Assistant and on occasion, you’ll find her up in reception working with our Client Service Team.
Rachel grew up in a large family who had numerous dogs and cats throughout her childhood. Her love of animals began at a young age and lead her to some exciting experiences like working at a large cat non-profit in Texas for three years! It was a dream come true as she has a special love for cats. At home, Rachel has two lovely cats (Foxy and Piper).
Kristin B.S., A.A.S, LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician- Team Lead and Learning/Development Specialist
Kristin started working at FVH in 2012 as a veterinary assistant.. She has a B.S. in Biology from University of Southern Maine, and an A.A.S. degree from San Juan College in Veterinary Technology. She obtained her LVT status in 2020.
Through her experience in the veterinary field, she has developed special interests in laser therapy and anesthesia. But since becoming a team lead and training director for the technician team, she has been able to pursue her true passion for coaching, mentoring, and educating others in this field. In addition to working at FVH, she will be teaching and assisting lectures and labs for a local community college veterinary technician program.
Outside of FVH, Kristin lives in Portland with her husband Chris, and their 4 children: Laci, Bria, Myles and Cooper. They have a dog (Gryffin) and cat (Max). Her other hobbies include coaching/playing ice hockey, running, Orangetheory fitness classes, hiking, journaling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
Erin
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Erin has been a technician for 8 years. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2015, with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. Erin has always been an animal lover and wouldn’t want a career doing anything else. Her two biggest passions are critical care nursing and surgery. She enjoys providing compassionate care to hospitalized patients by supporting them with high-quality nursing care. Seeing patients improve while staying with us is one of her greatest rewards! She also enjoys all aspects of surgery, from monitoring anesthesia to helping patients recover. When Erin is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Evan and their Golden Retriever, Ellie and cat, Marco. They love spending time at the beach, and skiing in the winter. They are so glad they get to call Maine their home!
Emma
Veterinary Assistant/Customer Service Representative
Emma has been at FVH since the winter of 2017, when she relocated back to snowy Maine from Charlotte, NC. In addition to splitting time between the technical and client services teams at FVH, Emma also interned with the ASPCA’s Strategy & Research department, an experience which culminated in her coauthoring a paper published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association on Family Quality of Life. In 2022 she earned a Masters of Science in Anthrozoology through Canisius College. She lives with her delightfully wild dogs Cora, Hugh, and Abilene, as well as her perfect cat Tucker and an overgrown not-so-perfect little kitten named Keller.
Sue
Certified Veterinary Assistant, Team Lead and Inventory Manager
Sue has been working at Falmouth Veterinary Hospital since 2003. Prior to working at FVH, she was a preschool and kindergarten teacher.
Sue graduated from UMass Amherst with a B.S. in Natural Resource Studies and is currently working on a veterinary technology degree. Beth is a Maine native who grew up in Scarborough with a younger brother and a lot of pets: a rabbit, cats, dogs, ducks, and chickens. She graduated from Scarborough High School before attending and graduating from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. She came to Falmouth Veterinary Hospital in 2002 and became a licensed veterinary technician after sitting for the national exam in January of 2003. She enjoys seeing the bond between clients and their pets and loves that she is able to play a part in enriching and extending that relationship. Stevie
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Stevie has been a valued member of the FVH team since 2009. Stevie started out her career with us as a CSR and set up our social media sites.
Stevie soon learned that the medical side of FVH was her true passion – she pursued and earned her veterinary assistant certificate in 2013 then finally achieved her ultimate goal of “LVT” in the summer of 2024. She has also taken on the role of inventory ordering for the hospital, which is a job she truly enjoys as she is an avid shopper. Stevie has a love for all creatures great and small. She shares her home with her husband, Dan, her daughters Eva and Nea, a 7-foot boa constrictor named Mina, three kitties, Smokey, Smee, and Salamander Frankenhiss, as well as her Chihuahuas, Stormin’ Norman Douglas, and Princess Penelope Poppet.
